Birth rates are falling in the Nordics. Are family-friendly policies no longer enough? Henry Mance - Financial Times writer - 2024 Jan 29

Twenty years ago, Finland appeared to have it all. The birth rate was rising and the proportion of women in the labour force was high. Policymakers from around the world, including the UK and east Asia, came to learn about the Nordic model behind it: world class maternity care; generous parental leave; a right to pre-school childcare. But maybe they got it wrong. Despite all the support offered to parents, Finland’s fertility rate has fallen nearly a third since 2010. It is now below the UK’s, where the social safety net is more limited, and only slightly above Italy’s, where traditional gender roles persevere. This is a puzzle for Anna Rotkirch, research director at the Family Federation of Finland’s Population Research Institute. A sociologist and demographer, she is one of Europe’s experts on how young people view having children. In 2020 and 2021, she advised then Finnish prime minister Sanna Marin on reinvigorating the country’s birth rate. Across the world, fertility is declining

The question is : Why Was There No Revolution in 1848 in England But Just Minutes Away, All Over France From 1789 Till Arguably 1799 So Much Ketchup Flowed And Uncountable Heads Rolled, As In Guillotined .

Dearest Artificial intelligent one, the question is :  Why Was There No Revolution in 1848 in England But Just 2 Minutes Away, All Over France From 1789 Till  Arguably 1799 So Much Ketchup Flowed And Uncountable Heads Rolled, As In Guillotined . Artificial intelligent one replies: The absence of a revolution in England in 1848, unlike the revolutionary events that took place across the Channel in France in 1789, can be attributed to several factors: Economic Stability:  In the mid-19th century, England was experiencing economic prosperity, largely due to the Industrial Revolution. The country had undergone significant industrialisation, and there was a growing middle class. Economic stability can mitigate the social unrest that often serves as a catalyst for revolution. Political Reform:  Prior to 1848, England had already undergone a series of political reforms. The Reform Act of 1832, for example, expanded voting rights and addressed some of the social and political grievances that

The beginning of how we found a way to design a coherent world accessible by everyone via dreams or Lucid dreams of people each sharing or subscribing to that world ? [ Morpheus-1 ] .

Lucid dreaming, a captivating phenomenon, occurs when an individual becomes conscious of their dream state, potentially gaining control over their dream environment.  This natural occurrence has not been connected to shared virtual worlds accessible by multiple individuals. Technology, however, is ever-evolving with advancements in neuroscience . Until now, discussions about creating a coherent world accessible through dreams have been dismissed by some as "woo woo" or relegated to the realm of conspiracy theories.  Yet, it's important  to recognise that scepticism aside, no concrete scientific evidence or technology has supported such a concept. In some circles, the pursuit of such possibilities is considered an honorable endeavour rather than a fanciful one.  However, the instinctive thought and worry or should I say concern remains that ....future developments could lead to the co-opting of this technology by unscrupulous parties potentially turning it into a tool fo

Olofin's Questions for Artificial Intelligence / Elon Musk About The 1804 Napoleonic Code, which influenced civil law codes across the world, are these just the Hammurabi codes sold to the then ignorant world as Napoleonic ?

Image
Dear Reader, allegedly  The 1804 Napoleonic Code, influenced civil law codes across the world, replaced the fragmented laws of pre-revolutionary France, recognising the principles of civil liberty, equality before the law (although not for women in the same sense as for men), and the secular character of the state. So naturally I questioned not only the authenticity but the name/ as for the former '?' that would have to be tackled in another issue, I mean the Hammurabi codes from thousands of years ago which this Napoleonic code smells of . (The Code of Hammurabi is a Babylonian legal text composed during 1755–1750 BC. It is the longest, best-organized, and best-preserved legal text from the ancient Near East. It is written in the Old Babylonian dialect of Akkadian, purportedly by Hammurabi, sixth king of the First Dynasty of Babylon. ) so,   My Question - h ello Artificial intelligent one, I have a question , can Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte be credited for single-handedly cre
