Address the Challenges Facing Africa or She Will Die, If she isn't KAPUT already anyway– A Call for the Total Destruction of Regressive Mentality and Crude, Unprogressive Culture Wherever We Find It.

Since the Nicene Conference of Constantine, when Christianity became formalized, Africa has faced numerous challenges. The question arises: Can these difficulties ever be overcome by remaining recognizable and currently in this form, or is a total change of everything, a complete destruction of what we know as our culture, truly needed? An old African man once said to me, "We have no love." I find this highly debatable, as it is impossible for a people to be completely and naturally devoid of love. This assertion oversimplifies the issue, ignoring the complexities within African societies.

A Complex Reality

Looking outside Africa, even in some Asian countries, never mind Europe, America, and other continents, there are welfare systems which cater to the least fortunate. Their people do not seem so hostile to each other, something I have encountered all my life within the Black community. However, at the same time, some of the most loving and pleasant experiences are also within this community. We could make excuses that seem plausible but ultimately serve as a double-edged sword.

Since modern records, Africa and Black people as a whole have been the breadbaskets of the world, leading to the ripple effect of a dysfunctional society. In the diaspora, there seems to be a lot of misandry. The misogyny is not as prevalent, but this, in my humble opinion, is not based on male partiality. I have seen misandry displayed from mother to son, sister to brother, and so on. This misandry is probably the sole reason for single-parent homes, something we have yet to truly understand. After all, women of other races have the same access to amenities that might lure them into single-family status. Yet, the opposite is true: based on our population in the diaspora, our homes should not be as single-parented.

Personal Encounters and Disappointments

For instance, on July 22, 2024, I left my home to support an African lady who I assumed was in need, to encourage her boss to see the wisdom of her employment. What I faced can only be described as crude savagery. After spending over $20 at the shop, I asked her for instructions on how to prepare ground rice satisfactorily. My God, I wish I never asked. She went into a tirade about how she was tired of "you Nigerians" coming to her shop, and how I should use Google, etc.

Had this been a Frenchman asking another French person in a foreign land about French cuisine, would the response have been so vile, rude, and crude? And I was supposed to be the customer! Oh, I forgot, it's Mohammed's shop on Harrow Road W9, where this rude, nasty African lady is the shop steward.

Another example is Ada, a girl I’ve known for over 25 years, who would come onto my social network page as a troll, leaving less-than-complementary comments on my posts. Yet, these are the same people who point to European enslavers, and even modern-day Europeans, as the sole arresters of Black growth.

A Need for Radical Change

I'm forced to write this piece. Notice I have not mentioned misandry, self-hate, or crudeness on a very personal level, which led to my escaping savagery. Even so, 25 years later, these individuals in question left Africa to come here and try to arrest my development, inspired by some sibling rivalry gone truly out of hand. These were the words of the serious crimes detective at Thames Mead Police Station after Nigerians reported me, thinking they were in Nigeria where the rich could abuse the poor with police. Unfortunately, over here, when you lie to cops, you make a big mistake.

We can blame colonialism, the moon, the stars, and the unborn, but can the difficulties facing Africa since the Nicene Conference of Constantine ever be overcome by remaining recognizable and in its current form? Or is a total change of everything, a complete destruction of what we know as our culture, truly needed? I suggest we need to go back to the drawing board. Something is wrong!

Conclusion

The issues within West Africa, and likely similar in East, North, and South Africa, indicate a profound need for introspection and radical change. We must address the internal conflicts, misandry, and dysfunction that plague our societies. It's time to reassess and rebuild from the ground up ..... a culture of love, respect, and mutual support. Only then can we hope to overcome the challenges that have haunted us for centuries.
