"Lost in the Universe: Understanding the Feeling of Not Belonging on Earth or in This Reality"

The feeling of not belonging on Earth or in a particular dimension, or feeling "out of sync" with one's true environment, is not a specific mental health diagnosis, but it can be linked with various psychological conditions, existential feelings, or altered states of perception. Some relative ideas or similar concepts include:

1. Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder (DPD):

Depersonalization is about feeling detached, out of synch from one's body or mind, as if one is observing themselves from the outside.

Derealization involves looking at the external world as unreal, dreamlike, or disconnected. People with this disorder may feel estranged or detached from reality, which could show itself when one feels or is feeling like they don’t belong on Earth or in the current dimension.

2. Existential Crisis:

This is a period of deep questioning about the nature of existence, reality, and one's purpose in life. People experiencing an existential crisis may feel decomissioned or disconnected from the world or question their place in the universe.

3. Dissociative Disorders:

Dissociation involves a disconnection between thoughts, identity, consciousness, and the external world. Some people with dissociative disorders may report feeling out of sync with their environment or like they are in a different dimension.

4. Schizotypal Personality Disorder:

This condition is marked by odd beliefs or magical thinking, unusual perceptions, and social detachment. A person with schizotypal personality traits may have ideas about alternate dimensions or realities and feel as though they are more aligned with something beyond the ordinary world.

5. Science Fiction-Inspired Syndrome (e.g., "Starseed" or "Otherkin"):

Some individuals may identify as "starseeds" or "otherkin," believing they are not originally from Earth or that they belong to another dimension or realm. These beliefs can be part of a spiritual identity rather than a psychological disorder, but in some cases, they might overlap with feelings of disconnection or alienation from the world.

6. Anxiety and Depression:

Generalized feelings of alienation or not fitting in can also come from anxiety or depression. These conditions can make a person feel detached from their surroundings, even if they don’t have specific beliefs about being from another dimension or planet.

7. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD):

Some individuals on the autism spectrum may report feelings of not belonging or being out of sync with societal ways, regulation and the environment around them. This sense of alienation may feel like living in a world that operates by rules they don’t understand.

Yes some of these feelings can be related to mental health issues, they could also reflect a profound  existential or spiritual sense of disconnection.
