“Tie your camel, then trust in Allah.” 

“God does not suspend reality to accommodate idiots.”

There is a difference between trusting Allah and testing Allah.

To place your trust in Allah does not mean ignoring reality, rejecting reason, or expecting God to protect you from consequences you could have reasonably avoided.

A simple teaching captures the principle:

“Tie your camel, then trust in Allah.”

Take the necessary action first. Then place your trust in Allah.

If you leave your camel untied and it wanders away, faith does not require believing that God should have stopped it.

The same principle applies to life.

Gravity does not stop because someone has faith. Fire does not stop burning because someone believes. Ignorance of reality does not exempt anyone from its consequences.

God can intervene. But human beings should not presume that God must constantly override reality simply because they have chosen to ignore it.

Take the means. Respect reality. Do what is within your responsibility. Then place your trust in Allah.

Faith is not a license for recklessness.

Trust Allah—but tie your camel.
